This is a one day training course for audit committees, the objective of which is to raise the standard and effectiveness of their work. The training helps participants consider how the audit committee can gain an overview of the overall control environment, review the effectiveness of risk management and monitor the performance of audit.

This one day training course will teach delegates how to function effectively as a Board, develop the capacity and capability of the Board and Board Members and set an action plan for improvement.

The 'On Board' training course has been designed to support the 'On Board' Guide for Board Members of Public Bodies. The Guide was first published by the Scottish Executive in 2003 and a revised and updated edition has been published very recently.
